The city of Bilbao in Spain's Basque country has the nightlife that one might expect if you have been to other of Spain's leading cities. The two most important of these are the feast of Santa Aqueda in February, which involves a colorful street parade and much merrymaking in the Casco Viejo, and the major Aste Nagusia Semana Grande celebration in August. The latter is the biggest celebration and well worth planning your visit around. It features free concerts, dances, theatre performances, fireworks, and Spanish bull fighting.
