Restaurants in Bilbao

There are a number of places to dine across the city of Bilbao to suit many different budgets.  While you are in the area you should definitely stop for a snack at a Pintxo bar, or make a meal out of visiting several, as there are often many located on the same street.

Antzokia

This creative restaurant is less touristy than other places with their cuisine.  Built in a restored large theater hall with its stage, the setting is a bit untraditional, but beautiful and comfortable.

Guggenheim Museum Restaurant

The Guggenheim features a fine restaurant with a decent value set lunch menu.  It is run by famous Basque chef Martin Berasategui.  It is a good idea to reserve your table in advance before you visit the museum in the morning.

Zortziko

Serving Traditional Basque dishes such as pigeon breast or marinated sea bass, this restaurant is an excellent choice to get to know what the locals eat.  Come for their formal environment, furnished with late Victorian style.  Cal in advance to make your reservation as they are often booked days ahead, and when you do make sure to ask about dining in their wine cellar!
